MassProv exists to make the Massachusetts improv scene easier to enter, navigate, and contribute to.
We connect improvisers with independent shows, open jams, workshops, rehearsal spaces, and one another. Our monthly newsletter highlights what is happening across the scene, while the MassProv WhatsApp network gives people an active place to share opportunities, form practice groups, and support each other’s work.
Community before gatekeeping
The local scene includes brand-new students, experienced performers, teachers, coaches, producers, and independent teams. MassProv is here to help those groups find each other and make room for more people to participate.
Independent and collaborative
Our primary role is community-building. We promote local events, uplift indie teams, maintain practical resources, and occasionally partner with instructors or performers on workshops and shows.
A welcoming space
Good improv depends on trust. We want MassProv spaces, online and in person, to be inclusive, supportive, and respectful. Our community code of conduct explains the standards we ask members to share.
